OPEN ENDED QUESTION

A three-toed sloth lives its whole life in trees. Its long

arms help it move slowly through the trees to find food.

Long, curved claws help the sloth grasp tree branches as

it moves. The sloth also uses its claws to bring leaves to its

mouth, where blunt teeth crush the leaves. The sloth has a

stomach that can easily digest the leaves. Its head can turn

nearly all the way around to help it watch for predators.

If attacked, it protects itself with its claws. The color of its

hair and the shape of its body make it hard for predators

to see the sloth. It can hide easily in the trees.

Question: How do the body parts of a three-toed sloth help it survive in trees? Use evidence from the photo and passage to make a claim that answers the question.
