The character is thinking (in the text).

Example: Oh no. I forgot to study! Who knows what will be on the test?!

Characters are talking. It will often will have quotation marks ("").

The main character is telling the story. It often has words like: I, me, and my.

Characters think differently about something.

Example: Finn is a good person. Even when Jasmine was mean to Finn, he still forgave her.

Ex: He bit into the red, shiny, juicy sweet apple.
