Reflection, Refraction and the electromagnetic spectrum

Reflection is when

• Light is bent as it passes through an object

• Light bounces off an object

• Light is scattered as it passes through the atmosphere

• White light is split into the colours of the rainbow

Refraction

• Occurs when light is bent as it passes through an object of a different density

• Is how fibre optic cables work

• Is related to sound, not light

• is the collective term for the light we see

White light is made up of

• Only white light

• Only black light, because it is opposite

• white light is reflected off the jumper
