MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

When you fasten a screw/bolt, you turn it clockwise (to right). When you loosen it, you turn counter-clockwise (left).
That is also the case when you fasten a pedal on the right side of your bike, but not on the left, why not?
Everything on the left side works the opposite way of the right side.
Pedalling forward is a counter-clockwise movement, same direction as for loosening a screw/bolt. But that would mean that the power you put on the pedal could loosen your left pedal, which would of course be dangerous. So they reversed the thread on the left.
It just happened to be designed like that.
It makes it easier to tell left and right apart.
