What types of issues are not life-threatening and just need some basic first aid?

• sunburn

• cuts and scrapes

Most burns, like a sunburn, are 1st degree burns (red skin that needs cool water to feel better). What are signs of 2nd or 3rd degree burns (that need medical help)?
