Stative verb (หรือ State verb) คือ คำกริยาแสดงสภาวะที่เกี่ยวกับ ความรู้สึก, ความคิด, ความสัมพันธ์, สภาวะความเป็นอยู่

ซึ่งคำกริยาในกลุ่มนี้โดยปกติแล้วจะใช้ใน Simple Tense เท่านั้น และ

จะไม่ใช้ในรูปเติม –ing ใน Continuous Tense

• ถูกต้อง อย่างไรก็ตาม stative verb บางตัว สามารถใช้รูป –ing ได้

  แต่ความหมายจะเปลี่ยนไป

• ไม่ถูกต้อง เพราะ stative verb สามารถใช้รูป

  –ing ได้ โดยที่ความหมายไม่เปลี่ยนไป
