A part of prayer from Ignatius Spiritual Exercises during which the person enters into a graced conversation with God, Jesus, or some figure in the Bible.

Translated means “care for the whole person.” This means to value a person in all aspects of their being.

The principle that all experiences and all things can bring us to an encounter with God. BUT we need to look for it, we need to seek the ways that God is present.

Sifting through one’s moods and feelings to make a decision of where God is calling you/ what God is asking you to do.

Translated means “the more” - used when making a decision. We should strive for whatever leads to God’s greater glorification and our closer union with God.

The idea that we should hold different states of life (such as wealth or poverty, sickness or health) in balance, putting aside our human preferences in favor of that which better glorifies God and accomplishes God’s will.

The principle that you put as good/generous an interpretation on what someone says when you think they may have said something wrong. Giving people the benefit of the doubt.

The idea that someone who is engaged in active work, should keep that balanced with an engaged prayer life and depth of reflection. Our prayer should inform our work and our work should inform our prayer.
