What does it mean for a student to code switch?

• To switch between their home dialect and the dialect spoken at school. In other words to change the way you carry yourself and talk depending on the sitiation

• To switch from talking like you are in a rap video to talking like you talk at home.

• To speak quietly when inside the classroom

What is the phone policy?

• Phones and ear phones should not be on your desk, lap, or on your body during classwork and lecture

• In your pocket on silent

• In your pocket on vibrate

• Phones should be out of sight and out of mind.

• At any time without permission.

• During break if allowed to, or with permission from Mrs. Fernandez

Your grade is broken up as 10% participation, 35% Quizzes and test and

• 55% Classwork

• 55% behavior

• 55% notes and homework

Late work is only accepted

• if there has been a prior arrangement made with the teacher.

• If it is turned in before grading is complete

If you break a rule you will be...
