Polly came home from school. Polly found a note on the table. it was from her father. The note said:

Enjoy! Love, Dad

Polly Wondered what the note meant. Then Polly saw a red dish on the floor. She had never seen the dish before.

"Mom!" Polly called. "there is a red dish on the floor!"

"Oh my, " said Mom. "I wonder why." Polly walked down the hall. On the wall,m she saw a note. It read:

Surprise!

Love, Mom

Then Polly saw a white bone on the floor near her bedroom. She had never seen that bone before.

"Mom!" Polly called. "There is a white bone on the floor by my bedroom!"

"Oh my," said Mom."I wonder why."

Polly walked into her bedroom. She saw a brown puppy sleeping on her bed. It had a red bow around its neck.

"Mom!" Polly called. "There is a brown puppy sleeping on my bed!"

"I know," said Mom. "I wonder what you are doing to name him."

Sam stayed down by the water until lunchtime.
