What is a metaphor?

• A figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g. as brave as a lion ).

What is personification?

• A comma with a full stop over the top of it.  Like this ;
• A discourse marker is a word or phrase that plays a role in managing the flow and structure of a piece of writing.
• A paragraph's opening sentence.
• A sort of bookmark.
