Also known as a sentence fragment
A dependent clause cannot stand alone as a complete sentence.
A fragment must be added to an independent clause to make it complete.

A run-on sentence joins two or more complete sentences (independent clauses) into a single sentence without proper punctuation or conjunctions
Run on Sentence
A sentence fragment is an incomplete sentence or thought that cannot stand on its own. A fragment is missing either a subject or a predicate.
