Homework

Investigate about your favorite constellation and galaxy. Make a power point presentations with the things your find interesting about them.

4

Star Classification:

6

media

Stars can be blue, yellow, orange, red , white or blue.

A star's color depend on its temperature. Blue Stars are the hottest and also the youngest. Red stars are the coolest. The sun is a yellow star.

Some text here about the topic of discussion.

Stars can be different sizes. The smallest stars are smaller than the Earth. The Sun is an average star and its diameter is over 100 times the Earth's diameter. Very small stars are called white dwarf and enormous stars are called red giants.

Luminosity is the amount of light from a star that reaches the earth. It depends on the size of the star, how hot it is and also how far it is from earth.

There are so many starts that we divide them into groups to make identification easier. Groups of stars are called constellations.

A galaxy is an enormous system of stars, dust and gas that is held together by the force of gravity.

There are billions of galaxies in the universe. It's possible to see some galaxies without telescopes, but they are so far away that they look like single points of light.

Galaxy Division

12

media

Can be round or oval shape. The largest galaxies are elliptical.

Eliliptical Galaxy

13

media

Have no shape. They are probably the young galaxies where new stars are formed.

All galaxies constantly move trough space. Sometimes galaxies collied and smaller galaxies become part of a larger galaxy.
