Expanded Form

A form that shows the value of each digit of a number. I can think the 3 is in the hundreds place so it is 300. The 5 is in the tens place so it is worth 50. and the 8 is in the ones place so it is worth 8. If I had used base ten blocks to build each digit, I would add them all together to get the total value of 358. That is how expanded form works!

You write the words the exact way you read the number. Make sure you use your word chart to spell the words correctly! Don't forget the hyphen when you write twentu-ninety in a digit.
