So what is a benchmark?

  • A known size or amount that helps you understand a different size or amount is a benchmark.

  • Common benchmarks are 0, 1/2 , 1,

    and 1 1/2.

  • We use benchmarks in other measuring, like meters, yards, pounds, and so on.
