Suffrage is the right to vote in elections.
Suffragettes are women who were fighting for the right to vote.


Women were at the front lines of the abolitionist movement, and were fighting for voting rights since the end of the Revolutionary War.

The Seneca Falls Convention

The first women's rights convention was held in 1848.
The leaders of this meeting were Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott.
