First Story
Our story starts out when a young lady moves into an apartment in an old house with her parents. Her neighbors include two elderly retired actresses and a strange man who lives upstairs and trains mice for a circus act. Despite the weirdness, she is very bored. Her parents work a lot and they tend to just ignore her. One day she discovers a door with a brick wall behind it. Seems kind of strange, right? But get this: when she opens the door, there's a hallway. She goes through and ends up in an entirely different world. It's like her own, but a little off. She has another mother, another father, and neighbors. And bonus, cats can talk. But wait, why do they have buttons as eyes? And now her real mother and father are
missing, did they kidnap her real parents?

Excerpt 2
Alone
From childhood's hour. have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd - I lov'd alone.
