Quartiles of a data set divide the data into four equal parts.

Vocabulary

Interquartile is the center two quartiles that equal 50% of the data.

Interquartile Range (IRQ) is the range of the middle half of the data.

Identifying Quartiles:

• Step 1: Find the MEDIAN of the entire data set. This Is Q2

• Step 2: Find the median of LOWER half of the data set. This is Q1.

• Step 3: Find the median of UPPER half of the data set. This is Q3.
