Count vs. Noncount nouns.
Sometimes it is difficult to know the difference. Here are some tips to help.
count nouns can be counted, noncount nouns cannot be counted.
look for articles (a, an, the) only count nouns use these.
look for plurals (~s, ~es) only count nouns use these
learn common noncount nouns. Water, Coffee, Rice, Bread are all noncount nouns that you will often see.
