Run-ons

​A run-on is one more than one sentence joined together improperly. It is missing a comma and a conjunction OR a semicolon.

​EXAMPLE: I lOVE PIZZA i WOULD EAT IT EVERY DAY.

COMMA SPLICE

​A comma splice is one more than one sentence joined together improperly. It only uses a comma.

​EXAMPLE: I lOVE PIZZA, i WOULD EAT IT EVERY DAY.

CORRECTING THEM

Two common ways to correct a run-on and/or a comma splice are to add the following in between the two sentences:

-Add a comma and conjunction (best one based on context)

-A semicolon​

​EXAMPLE: I love pizza, and I could eat it every day.

OR ​

I love pizza; i could eat it every day.​
