That's the same thing you do with the distributive property.

You distribute the number outside of the parenthesis.

​5(2+4)-> 5x2+5x4

Look at whatever is on the inside of the parenthesis and be Oprah!

You get 7! You get a 7! You get a 7!

7(3+4+1)

You get a 7! 7x3​

Then you just solve.
