Line Is.....

the path of a moving point. It is a mark left by a tool - brush, pencil, stick, pen, etc. Line defines the edges of shapes and forms. They don't exist naturally, artists have to decide where and how to place lines as they draw. Lines often suggest movement in a drawing or painting. ​

RHYTHM​: suggests movement or action. Rhythm is usually achieved through repetition of lines, shapes, colors, and more. Visual beat

MOVEMENT: the path the viewer's eye takes through the work of art, often to focal areas. Such movement can be directed along lines, edges, shape, and color within the work of art.

EMPHASIS​: the art of making a specific element stand out or draw attention to the eye. Emphasis can be achieved in graphic design by placing elements on the page in positions where the eye is naturally drawn, and by using other principles such as contrast, repetition, or movement.

​Outlines- Lines made by the edge of an object or its silhouette. 

1. Contour Lines- Lines that describe the shape of an object and the interior detail

Gesture Lines- Line that are energetic and catches the movement and gestures of an active figure​

​Implied Line- Lines that are not actually drawn but created by a group of objects seen from a distance. The direction an object is pointing to, or the direction a person is looking at.
