A sentence is a group of words that come together to make sense.
The boy is in the tree.
The man walks down the road.
If it is not finished or complete, it is a phrase

These are called statements or Declarative sentences.
They all end with a full stop (.)

Other sentences ask a question.

Are you ok?
What time is it?
These are called questions or interrogative sentences. The all end with a question mark (?)

Some sentences show feelings like happiness, fear or anger.
Stop that !
I am so happy!
That monster is scary!
These are called exclamations or exclamatory sentences. They all end with an exclamation mark (!)

To figure out what type of sentence it is ask yourself:
Is it saying something?- Statement.
Is it asking a question?- Question
Is it showing feeling?- Exclamation
