​Supervised Agricultural Experience

​ - a student led project for agriculturally based students completed outside of the classroom

​4 types of SAE's

​1 - Entrepreneurship -

​personally owning all/part of an ag entreprise

​

​Requires time and money investment

​student is responsible for risks and rewards

​starts small but can grow exponentially

​requires a risk

​2. Research/Experimentation

​science based

​uses scientific method to find a question and answers

​requires time but usually not money

​3 - Paid Placement

​usually a part-time job

​requires time not money

​helps you earn money

​record keeping is key

​4 - Unpaid Placement

​work without being paid money

​may barter work for supplies or other items
