What is the Bill of rights
by Mr. Long
2
What is it?
The Bill of rights is the first ten amendments of the Constitution.
It is Rights that each American has depending on their age.
Each on is different and protects the people not the government.
3
But wait.... Whats the constitution?
This is a document created by our "Founding Fathers". Dad??
It is the highest law in the country. (All other laws come from this)
The only way its changed is if there is an "Amendment added".
Written in 1787 (Over 200 years old)
4
Why?
Long ago a group met called the Framers. George W. Ben F.
The U.S was still a baby, and the Government didnt work very well.
Laws were made that werent fair.
There was only 13 states. (Each state had someone to represent them with ideas. (Lots of arguing).

10th Amendment
Rights reserved to the states or people.
(Age to drive)
15
Why are these important?
Imagine if someone made a law that said you werent aloud to call someone ugly or you go to jail. Or you cant say a certain food is nasty.
Imagine if you couldnt go to church anymore, or you could not meet for vollyball/ dance/ football/ cheer/ ect...
Imagine if you had to pay a 12 million dollar fine for staring at someone for too long.
The Bill of rights protects you from these silly things happening.
16
But how do you make an amendment?
Today there are 27 Amendments in the Constitution.
Step one "Proposal".
