Quotient

The answer to a division problem.

Divisor

The number of sets/groups you are making from the dividend.

Dividend

The number of to be split into equal parts by the divisor.

The answer to a subtraction problem.

Digit

A numeral between 0 and 9

Exchanging 10 ones for 1 ten

Factors

Numbers to be multiplied are called (can also be called multipliers and multiplicand)

Formula

A series of steps that are followed to solve a mathematical problem

Equation

A mathematical sentence that has two equal sides separated by an equal sign

Breaking a number down by adding each place value.

Place Value

The value a digit has by its position in a number

Product

The answer to a multiplication problem.

Round or rounding

Estimating the value of a number to certain place value

Word Form

A number written using words

Decompose

To break 1 larger unit into smaller units

Addend

Numbers to be added together.

In 7 + 8, the numbers 7 and 8 are called

Compose

make 1 larger unit from a 10 smaller units

Comma

a character that separates the periods when a number is written in standard form

Sum

Answer to an addition problem
