2

Nouns

  • A noun is a person, place or thing

  • In Italian a noun will generally end in a vowel (unless it's borrowed from English e.g. Kayak)

  • Nouns in Italian have a gender

  • The gender has got nothing to do with who is interacting with the noun, the noun itself has a gender

3

Nouns gender

Nouns that end with the letter 'o' are masculine and singular

Nouns that end with the letter 'a' are feminine and singular

Nouns that end with the letter 'e' are a bit trickier and you should always consult a dictionary
