• A good piece of narrative writing includes descriptive details that provide information about the thoughts, feelings, words, and actions of the characters

• Writers can use vivid sensory language to tell what the characters look like, say, and do

Good narratives typically include the following elements:

• Words that describe what the characters look like

• Words that describe the characters’ thoughts and feelings

• Vivid sensory language that describes the characters’ actions and words
