What is a claim?

  • People and companies make claims all the time like "This product/idea is the best product/idea."

  • However, it is important not to make a claim UNLESS there is enough EVIDENCE to support that claim.

  • In science, we do experiments and collect data. We then look for patterns in the data to see if it supports a certain claim.

3

Can you tell the difference between TRUTH and BAD SCIENCE? For each of the following claims, go online to see what evidence you can find to support if it is true or false. After time is up, Vote to support the claim (true) or show the claim is bad science (false).
