What is an outliner?

There are no values that are below the lower fence. However, there is one data value that is above the upper fence. This value, 353 pounds, is considered an outlier. Note that the right whisker has moved back to the next highest data value that is below the upper fence, 338 pounds.

What is an outliner?

For a set of data, an outlier is an extreme value that differs greatly from other values in the data set. To identify an outlier, use the following two formulas to establish an upper and lower fence. --- Any values that are above the upper fence (348.5 pounds) or below the lower fence (288.5 pounds) are considered outliers.

Selecting a Front View

Quickly (5 minutes or less) sketch the missing orthographic projection to represent the front view of the part. Use light construction lines between the views to properly align features.

How to Interpret a Box Plot

If a data distribution is symmetric, its box plot will show the median roughly down the middle with an equal spread on either side. Skewed data will show a box plot where the median divides the box into two unequal pieces. If the longer part of the box is to the right (or above) the median, the data is said to be skewed right. If the longer part is to the left (or below) the median, the data is skewed left.

Quickly sketch a front, top, and side view of a human head—the orthographic projections need only show the location of eyes, ears, and nose.  Draw a cutting plane line that corresponds to each section. Be sure to label each cutting plane line as L-L (left section), M-M (middle section), or R-R (right section).

For the inner bushing diameter marked in red, select the statement of statements that descibe the tolereance of dimension. Check all that apply.

1

The bushing diameter must be at least 1.000 inches but can be no more than 1.005 inches

2

The bushing diameter must be greater than 1.000 inches or less than 1.000 inches

3

The upper limited dimension is 1.005 inches

4

The actual diameter of the hole is 1.000 inches

17

let’s look at the different types of holes

  •  so you can correctly identify them and document size dimensions.

There are three basic types of holes: simple, counterbore, and countersink.

  • Each type of hole is classified as a through hole or a blind hole.
