We will identify reasons people formed communities, including a need to security and laws. You will identify and describe law enforcement services commonly provided by local governments. You will identify characteristics of good citizenship and understand the importance of responsibility.

  • Rules- regulations put in place for a specific activity or purpose

  • Chaos- disorder or confusion

  • Fund- a sum of money saved or made available for a specific purpose

  • Police Department- a group of people who work to protect and keep our community save

  • Fire Department- a group of people who fight fires and help to rescue people within our community

  • Paramedic- a person trained to give emergency medical care to people who are injured or ill

  • Crossing Guard- a person whose job it is to help pedestrians, especially schoolchildren, to cross intersections safely
