What is Black History Month?

Black History Month is the whole of February. In February, people celebrate African American heroes and heroines who made history, like Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and many others.

3

Why Is It Important?

It began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of Africans and African Americans. It is celebrated in February in the United States and Canada. Black History Month is a great way to appreciate how far we have come, from slavery to segregation to equality, and all the people who fought for equality, and suffered for equality
