HOMOZYGOUS

means having identical alleles for a particular gene or genes.

HOMOZYGOUS Dominant

• means having two identical alleles that are dominant.

• it is represented by uppercase or capital letter

• Examples: YY, WW, XX, AA

HOMOZYGOUS Recessive

• means having two identical alleles that are recessive.

• It is represented by lowercase or small letter.

• Examples: yy, ww, xx, aa

HETEROZYGOUS

• having two different alleles for the same gene or genes

• Using the alphabet, it is represented by one uppercase and one lowercase of the same letter.

• Examples: Yy, Ww, Xx, Aa
