Nets and Surface Area

We are learning to find the surface area of nets.

net: a flat representation of a 3-dimensional prism

surface area: the sum of all areas of the faces of a figure

​Rectangular Prisms & Cubes are 3-dimensional: they have height, length & width

​Rectangular Prisms & Cubes have 6 faces.

​Triangular Prisms have 5 faces.

Mistake most OFTEN made:

Forgetting to divide by 2 for a triangle.
