Run-on sentences

• When two or more sentences are put together

• Normally occurs when writers add more details to their writing pieces.

Run-on sentences - Corrections

• Incorrect: Joey loves to play baseball he plays everyday with his sisters and his three friends at school.

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball. He plays everyday with his sisters and his three friends at school.

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball; he plays everyday with his sister and his three friends.

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball, and he plays everyday with his sister and his three friends at school.

Run-on sentences - Corrections

• Incorrect: Joey loves to play baseball he plays everyday with his sisters and his three friends at school.

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball. He plays everyday with his sisters and his three friends at school. (add a period)

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball; he plays everyday with his sister and his three friends. (add a semicolon to seperate)

• Correct: Joey loves to play baseball, and he plays everyday with his sister and his three friends at school. (add a comma and a conjunction to seperate)
