Martin Luther
Martin Luther was a leader in the Catholic church who was against many of it's practices. On October 31st, 1517, he nailed his 95 Theses to the doors of his local church. These ideas spread and eventually people began new churches, called Protestant. He also translated the Bible into German so everyone could read it.
