2

Group I

Talks about what the rock's name and where it could be found

3

Igneous

Igneous rocks are hot rocks that were dried up. Igneous rocks are found in volcanoes.

4

Sedimentary

Sedimentary rocks are cold rocks. Sedimentation is the collective name for processes that cause these particles to settle in place. They are usually found in water.

5

Metamorphic

Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have old rocks. The protolith may be a sedimentary, igneous, or existing metamorphic rock.

9

Group II

Talks about rock formation.

10

Igneous Formation

Igneous rocks form when magma (molten rock) cools and crystallizes, either at volcanoes on the surface of the Earth or while the melted rock is still inside the crust. All magma develops underground, in the lower crust or upper mantle, because of the intense heat there.

11

Sedimentary Formation

Sedimentary rocks are formed when sediment is deposited out of air, ice, wind, gravity, or water flows carrying the particles in suspension. This sediment is often formed when weathering and erosion break down a rock into loose material in a source area.

12

Metamorphic Formation

Metamorphic rocks started out as some other type of rock, but have been substantially changed from their original igneous, sedimentary, or earlier metamorphic form. Metamorphic rocks form when rocks are subjected to high heat, high pressure, hot mineral-rich fluids or, more commonly, some combination of these factors.
