In this activity you will test to see if matter can be destroyed

Take the following items out of your lesson 1 science kit

• cup (fill half way up with water)

• spoon

• bag with sugar cubes

How do I complete this experiment?

• drop the sugar cube into the cup of water

• stir using the spoon until the sugar dissolves

• observe

How can we test to see what happened to the sugar cube in the water?

How can we tell if it is still there or if it disappeared?
