Prevention

• Use of a strategy or resource BEFORE you face the problem

• Examples: studying for a test, brushing your teeth to prevent a cavity

Intervention

• The use of a strategy or resource to help after you are confronted with a problem.

• Examples: asking for help on a test, paying your phone bill after your phone is cut off

Both of these are very important!

In order to effectively handle problems that come your way, you need to practice prevention and intervention on a regular basis!
