The Who, What, Where, When, & Why of The Treaty of Versailles
Europe suffered a tremendous amount of damage during the war.
The Central Powers (losing side) signed treaties with the Allies (winning side).
Germany was the last to sign a treaty; theirs was different from all other peace agreements in Europe.
The Treaty of Versailles held Germany responsible for the war and severely punished the country.
The Treaty of Versailles, signed in the Palace of Versailles near Paris, France on June 28, 1919, was the official end of WWI.
