Theory: a belief that can guide behavior. 

Types of Development (we'll cover this throughout the semester, but just so you have an overview...There are many ways we develop as humans

• Physical Development: growth process that refers to a person's body (weight, height, internal body systems)

• Intellectual Development:  growth of the brain and the use of mental skills

• Social: refers to the way people relate to others around them

• Emotional:  the ability to experience, express, and control emotions

• Moral: the ability to know right from wrong
