So....what's the point? Why use reading strategies?

  • We will think about what we're reading more when we use these strategies.

  • If we're thinking about what we're reading, we're going to understand what we read better!

  • Just knowing the strategies won't make you a better reader. You have to actually USE THEM! 

  • You will probably have to think about using strategies purposefully at first, but eventually, you might not even realize you're using them!
