The very beginning of the story in which the setting, main characters, and conflict are introduced. It also gives the reader any background information they need.

Things happen that cause the conflict to get more intense. Everything leads to the climax. This is the longest part of the story.

The main conflict is at its most intense, and is finally dealt with head on. This is usually the most exciting part of the story. This is often the “Boss battle” of the story.

The results of the climax are revealed. The story has slowed down, but it's not over.

The very end of the story. The final fates of the characters are revealed. This part helps you to feel like the story is finally over, and usually tries to answer any remaining questions.
