The Australian constitution is a book full of laws for Australia. The constitution also can be changed. The Constitution can protect Australians rights. The constitution was made on the 1st of January 1901. The constitution was made to bring all six colonies together into a nation (Australia). The constitution has 8 chapters.

The purpose of the constitution was to bring all the six colonies together into a nation. Also the constitution is supposed to be a book full of the laws of Australia. Some advantages- 1. The constitution can be changed through a referendum. 2. You have to follow or enforce the laws in the constitution. 3. It shows have the government should be structured.

The bill is the first stage. A bill is a proposed law which sets out proposed change in the constitution.

The committees- The committees is when the House of Representatives and the Senate are split into 2 groups. The no committee and the yes committee. The no committee is made out of people who vote against the change and the yes committee is made out of the people who want the change.

The writ. The writ is a written order, from the governor-general and they say when the referendum is happening (including polling day).

The case. The case is- The case committees make a list of reasons to yote either yes or no. The case committees also explain the changes to the constitution and send it to the whole of Australia before the referendum.

The vote. The vote is when the people go to a certain place, depending on where they live to vote yes or no on the changes. If more of say yes then the constitution will be changed.
