a negative attitude, of which one is not consciously aware, against a specific social group. This is caused by stereotypes that individuals hear throughout their whole life. People do not choose to have implicit bias, and often don't realize they have it.

individuals are aware of their prejudices and attitudes toward certain groups. Overt racism and racist comments are examples.
